HOCUM HEROES

GLEN BECK
Beck assumes a professorial stance on Fox News, twisting logic with distorted facts and defies the camera's audience with a boyish demeanor that those in his choir believe expresses truth.

HUGH DOWNS
Rents what is left of his prestigious name to mass mailings and solicitations. Now, he supposedly has health tips that would obviate doctors for a long list of life-threatening maladies, for a price. He does not care about effectiveness, just royalties for the use of his name.

KOCH BROTHERS
Charles and David Kock expanded inherited wealth, and funded the T-party with 100 million dollars in an effort to place friendly legislators who will repeal safety regulations over their Georgia-Pacific paper, their pipeliine network and refineries, and to reduce their tax load.

MICHAEL HUCKABEE
A self-ordained minister and ex governor of AR would tax the poor at the same rate as the rich

JUDSON PHILLIPS
Judson Phillips, founder of the T-Party Nation and a Tennessee attorney , says all Methodists are socialists, and should be removed. Phillips also recently galled the sensibilities of even the most amateur fans of social justice or common sense when he said that it would make "a lot of sense" to return to a system where only property owners have the right to vote.

SARAH PALIN
The  Republican VP candidate in 2008, a populist often out of touch with reality, but mainly exploiting her fame or notoriety for the money-making potential. She lies back, not a candidate, hoping to be drafted to run.

NEWT GINGRICH
This erstwhile republican candidate, reputed to be extremely bright, outrages his constituency with stupid utterances and blatant lies, claiming he was not an influence peddler paid 1.6 million by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac saying  this was a fee for his duties as a historian.
